4th place isn't bad

As you all know the Regional Competition was May 25th. Sam's team did not get a lot of study time coming into the competition because they had standardized testing over the last 2 weeks. Sam was really mad that they did not allow them time to prepare and swore they were going to preform terribly because of it. In spite of the lack of study time and being one of the two teams with all third graders our boys came in fourth place. Of course to our little competitive Sammy that just cemented that they could have won it all if given the chance to study. We are so proud of him and all they boys on his team. They competed against 8 other schools with teams made up of 4th and 5th graders and they finished 4th in the competition. I am hoping Sam decided to do this again next year as well.

Waiting for the start of the competition. Our team arrived late but they held the start of the competition for parents to take a quick picture.

Trying to figure out the answer .....

This one is blurry because they were jumping up and down and pumping fists and my auto focus couldn't keep up. In case you couldn't figure it out they got it right!

All teams competing got a medal and the winning team got the trophies. As you can see from Sam's face he wanted the trophy instead.

Sam,

You should be very proud. Proud you went for something and worked hard. Proud you put yourself out there and proud to be willing to take on a challenge. You are wise beyond your years. There are many adults who haven't figured out working hard can get them better results.
I am proud to know you. GOOD JOB!
Love,Katherine
