Sammy is learning some American history this month and in the pictures he is wearing his Christopher Columbus hat. "Hey mom did you know he was Italian like you and Grandpa?" It has a drawing that he did on it of each of the three ships. I don't think you can tell in the pictures though. Of course Seraphina had to get a chance to wear it too once she saw it on his head, and because he is a good big brother he let her. They are also learning about Johnny Appleseed and his homework tonight was to make applesauce, which he is doing in the other pictures. My favorite is the one where he is on the phone with his dad, though he does look a little bit too grown up there. Again Pheenie wanted to help so he let her stir the apples in the pot.
We are licking our wounds. The bad playoff starts for both the Yanks and Jeff's Cubs have put all of us in bad moods. Sam worse then anyone though because he has to deal with the Philadelphia fans at school (though one would hope that losing two in a row would shut them up a bit) and was actually forced to take part in creating the Philly Fanatic in art class today. He came home so disgusted and upset, I tried to explain to him about fair weather fans and that people here think that because we are close to Pa. they should support the Philly teams, but he wasn't comforted by that. Can't say I blame him I wouldn't take part in celebrating any other team myself so of course I understand his aggravation. Hopefully he will have the last laugh, though tonight it isn't looking that way. UGH.
We are going to have a very exciting weekend so make sure to check back soon as we will be posting the photo's of our day in the mountains! It's that time of year again, the trees are changing color and Millbrook Village is calling our names. Love to all!
