Memorial Day

Yet again I can't actually see my pictures but they are pretty self explanatory. The kids are placing flags at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery for Memorial Day. I tried to get a photo of the before and after and I hope that they are on here. Sam's pack did not do this, which I am extremely disappointed about, but our friends the Williams family made room for Sam in their pack. We appreciate Pack 199 allowing Sam to join in and hope that Pack 145 will realize just how important it is to teach our children about the sacrifice these men and women made for our freedom so that next year he will be able to join his own pack. Seraphina's Daisy troop was able to join in and the kids were both very proud of the work they did. It was 90 degrees and there wasn't any shade as you can see but they hung in and cleaned the headstones and placed the flags. The first one Pheenie cleaned the man was born in 1920 on her birthday and Sam's first one the man died in 1990 on his birthday which is just kind of odd. Sam also cleaned one and actually shouted when he saw it belonged to Harry Potter. We are so thankful for the sacrifice and that we are free and able to place flags free of persecution because we live in this great country. For all of it's flaws it is still in our opinion the best country to live in and we are proud to be a part of keeping it that way. Happy Memorial Day to all and try to think about in the course of your celebrations what it is we are remembering this weekend. Be safe and know that even if we aren't celebrating with you we are thinking of you and we love you!

Click on this last one to blow it up, the small picture just doesn't do justice to how beautiful it really looks!
