Here she is at the cake walk trying to win it, the women next to her is Sam's teacher Mrs. Fullerton. If she looks familiar that is because she was his 1st grade teacher also. We LOVE her!

Winning it back.

All student council members must volunteer an hour of their time to the festival. Sam ran the ping pong toss.

Here he is giving Seraphina her prize
At the October pack meeting the boy scouts had a Halloween party.
Pheenie is not looking happy with Mario, we've also learned the boy scouts expect you to help if you are there. I was running a station here.

Sam played on Pemberton's traveling team for the fall season. It was a lot of work and he played really hard. These pictures are taken at the playoff game. It was a sudden death playoff and they won the first game. Sam missed the second game because he had a boy scout trip and sadly it was the last game of the season. As always we are proud of the hard work Sam put into the season.

After the game the coaches giving the big pep talk for round 2.

Our beautiful little Daisy scout. She really loves girl scouts and we love that she is getting to be around other girls her age.

Sam went to Fernbrook Farms for the aforementioned trip. He had so much fun but still took time out to bring this picture back for our little pig lover, Seraphina.
Speaking of lessons Seraphina is still going strong with home school and the more we do it the better we get at it. Here we are with Ethan (I was baby sitting). I was worried it would interfere with her work but as you can see he was eager to do work too.
Finishing our lessons on chemical reaction we made a lemon juice rocket. I have a great video of this but for some reason blogger won't upload it.
Trick or treating at the library. This librarian loves Pheenie and is always so happy to see her when we come in.

Our Samhain altar minus the knife and bell which I don't leave out because they are too tempting to small hands.
Sammy pumpkin head!
Pheenie pumpkin head!
Daddy pumpkin head! Mama has way too much hair to be a pumpkin head, besides I'm a pumpkin head already ;)
The kids in costume. Sam was a ninja (store bought) and Pheenie was of course a pig, which she helped make this year!

Our jack-o-lantern's. I don't know what Sam is doing here.

Our jack-o-lantern's. I don't know what Sam is doing here.

Pheenie dressed Bella as a ghost.

Trick or treating at the new neighbors house. That is Tammi and Ron Jr giving out candy. It seems we have FINALLY been blessed with great neighbors!

This year we went trick or treating with Anthony and Ethan their parents Jayme and Jesse, Annette, and her dad Ron. We had a blast and the kids got way too much candy.

Pheenie and Ethan (with Jesse) trick or treating at Mr. Eddie's house (he lives on our corner)

Annette as spiderman, her dad Ron and Sam as a ninja.

Sam rocking his air guitar after getting treats from a ghost buster.

In our house we do "snack night" once a week. We take turns picking a movie to watch and eat finger foods on the picnic blanket on the floor. For Halloween Seraphina made a monster themed snack night. Here is her spread: Monster face pizza, spiders (pigs in a blanket), witch fingers (green mozzarella sticks with black olive finger nails), eyeballs (cheese puffs with green dots painted on them), witch hats (grasshopper cookies with dark chocolate kisses) caramel apples, blood (marinara sauce) and soul cakes (which are traditional Samhain food). It was all delicious!

As you can see she is very pleased with herself and all her hard work.

After dinner the kids looked at their loot Sam is excited with his piece of candy!

Daddy traded a hug for a piece of candy.

Pheenie got something good obviously.

The boy scouts take a lot of our time. I never imagined how many things we would end up doing once we signed him up. It seems every weekend he has a scouting thing. This weekend it was Paul Bunyan day. Sam had a great time and Pheenie and I really enjoyed cheering him on during the contest. (Dad is away with the Army again) Here he is in the log race.

Sawing. He is racing one of his best friends James, who happens to be the reason Sam enrolled in scouts in the first place.

The obstacle course consisted of dressing like a lumberjack, jumping the barrel, walking the balance beam, jumping rope, dizzy bats, weaving through cones, flipping a flapjack and then getting out of the lumberjack clothes. Sam is slow most people know we call him sloth man so I thought for sure he was in trouble here but he managed to come in 1st. Wow was I surprised!

Hammering in nails again against James. Sam won here too!

Pheenie congratulated Sammy at the end of the day. He did so well and most importantly he made a point to tell some kid who was using hate speech that his words were not welcome here or anywhere else. Most of you know that Sam is very shy usually and so you can imagine how proud I was hearing him stand up to this kid who was double his size and a few years older then him. (he is actually in the picture above this one in the blue and red sweat shirt) Boy Scouts has been a wonderful thing for Sam and even though it keeps us really busy I know the lessons he is learning there will help him for the rest of his life.
